What is causing your morning headaches?

Sleep Apnoea may be causing your to wake up with a headache

Headaches are incredibly common, and the occassional headache is not usually a cause for concern.

If you are regularly waking up with a headache in the morning, then it warrants further investigation.

Regular morning headache sufferers are up to eight times more likely to have a sleep disorder, than those without headaches.

One of the most common sleep disorders is Sleep Apnoea, which interrupts your breathing during the night. Headaches in the morning is a very common symptom.

Other Sleep Apnoea symptoms

If you experience any of the following symptoms alongside morning headaches, then it is likely that Sleep Apnoea could be the cause.

Snoring
Excessive daytime tiredness
Choking or gasping during sleep
While not a symptom, being overweight, male and aged over 35 all increase the likelihood that you have Sleep Apnoea.
